Following our conversation yesterday about the disappearance of Madeleine McCann photographs received yesterday by OCN, I am sending a report with more information obtained about the person and the girl who were seen in Trujillo.

Information Note

With regard to the disappearance of the English girl Madeleine Beth McCann, which occurred on 03-05-2007 in Lagos (Portugal), the following information was provided:


Yesterday this Missing Persons Group heard that the Spanish citizen, Francisco Tenllado and his wife believe they recognised the girl as being the person who accompanied a male on Sunday the 6th May in Trujillo, which is why this group telephoned the witness who said that, in effect, between 20.00 and 21.30 approximately, on that date he and his wife were in Trujillo (Cáceres) for tourist reasons (they live in Madrid) and that in the Plaza Mayor (main square) they saw a man aged 45 to 50, 1.75 in height, slim, with short brown streaked hair and an earring in one of his ears, wearing dark green jeans, a black shirt, a denim jacket and carrying a rucksack, who was leading a small girl by her hand, the girl was blond, with large eyes and was wearing jeans and a light coloured long sleeved shirt and they had the impression that her nappy was soiled, she had an “uncared for” appearance.

It seemed as if they were waiting for someone, as they were all the time walking about the square and its surroundings, he could not establish what language they were speaking, the girl’s behaviour was normal, sometimes holding the man’s hand and sometimes not.

They related this information to the disappearance of the girl when they returned to Madrid and saw the girl’s photograph in the media.

They saw they would recognise the man.

They appear in the holiday photographs that they took and which were emailed to this Group and which were sent to Interpol whom they also telephoned with regard to this information.

On 09-05-2007 a woman telephoned the Malahide Garda Police Station in Dublin saying that she thought she had seen the missing girl, Madeleine Beth McCann. The witness says that she saw the girl accompanied by a man on 07-05-2007 between 22.50 and 23.10 in Eden Quay, Dublin (city centre) entering bus 3.

She realises that there has been a delay in communicating this possible sighting. The officers immediately contacted the bus company in Dublin and gathered images from security cameras and investigations continue based on the bus itinerary in North County, Dublin with the aim of identifying the individual and the girl.

We ask you to examine the enclosed images and to inform us whether the girl and the individual are known to you or to the family of the missing girl.
Please treat this matter with urgency.

We are sending the statement of a possible witness.

Marie-Charlotte Groenevold, born on 24-09-1970 in Gorinchen (sic), resident in Rotterdam.

The person mentioned above states that she was on holiday between 28-04-2007 and 05-05-2007. On 05-05-2007 she was in a restaurant. She cannot remember the name of the restaurant but it was in the Berge area, at the first service station in Luxembourg, after crossing the French border. She was accompanied by her boyfriend, her daughter and one of her daughter’s friends, her sister in law, her two children and her sister in law’s husband.


She got up from the table at about 18.30. At that moment she saw a man of Moroccan origin, shouting at another “Negroid type” man “stay sitting there”. The “Negroid type” man did not respond, he had a docile attitude he was sitting in a corner next to the children’s play area. The witness saw the Moroccan man head in the direction of the self-service. He was holding the hand of a girl, who was not walking very quickly. The witness did not manage to see the girl’s face properly but she did notice that the girl did not appear to be happy. She was walking behind the man who was holding her hand. The man did not speak to her.

The witness, who was 15 metres away from them remembers that the girl had straight brown hair in a page boy cut, was about 3 years old and of European appearance.

She does not remember how the girl was dressed.

Description of the two men in question:

The Moroccan man was aged between 30 and 33, wearing fashionable clothing, with short dark hair.
The “Negroid” type man was aged about 30, clothing unknown.
The witness did not see any woman accompanying the two men.
There was a boy of Moroccan appearance at the restaurant till and a Belgian couple who entered the restaurant, this persons could perhaps have heard or seen something.

Subject: Phone call from a person saying she has identified little Maddy on the A.9 Motorway in the area of Fabregues.

1. We communicate the following facts: Friday 15-02-2008 at 21.42 CORG ·$ received a phone call from a Dutch citizen who claimed to have identified on the A9 Motorway in the Fabregues service station (Poussan/EDSR Herault) young Maddy who was abducted from Portugal in May 2007. This girl was accompanied by a white man. A patrol from Poussan immediately went to the scene. When they arrived the man and the girl were no longer there. The video cassettes from the commercial establishments were apprehended.

2. Identity of the person who witnessed the events: Melissa Fiering, born on 11-5-1989 in Holland and resident in Nymegen.

3. New facts: Friday 21 February 2008, Mr Philippe, public prosecutor for Montpellier requested the urgent sending of the initial process documents elaborated by the Poussan PA. The prosecutor ordered Montpellier SR to continue with the investigation.

Friday 21st February 2008 the IRCGN from Rosny Sous Bois, communicated a telephone call made by the Corbi family, of Moroccan origin (who had received bother during the Autumn of 2007 because of the resemblance of their daughter to Maddy) stating that they had travelled on Friday 15th February 2008 along the A9 motorway and had made a stop in the Fabregues service area.

A woman of Dutch nationality thinks that on 16-02-2008 she saw Madeleine at the Sants train station in Barcelona.

She was seen at about 15.50 on platform 9 near to the escalator and she was with a man aged about 30-40, 1.75m in height slim with short dark hair. And with a woman aged 30-40, 1.75m in height, blond hair, fair skinned. The man and the woman appeared normal but Madeleine seemed scared. The Dutch woman recognised Madeleine because she had seen photos on television and in the papers.

There are various cameras installed in this station and also on platform 9. Maybe it is possible to visualise the recording from 16th February in able to establish whether the girl on platform 9 was in fact Madeleine.

With regard to your request of 4-5-2007, the Zurich airport police state the following:

On 11-5-2007, Karsten Kuppers, German citizen, lawyer, resident in Portugal appeared before this police force and stated:

Mr Kuppers was in the self-service restaurant in Terminal 2, departures area, in Zurich airport on 11-05-2007 at about 12.15, when he saw a group composed of two men, 1 woman, 1 boy and 1 girl. The group was sitting in front of Mr Kuppers, their behaviour was rather strange. They did not appear to be a normal family, the children appeared frightened and the girl and boy were treated with some distance. The adults spoke German and English, it was not possible to make out the language of the children.

The group left the restaurant when three police officers sat down close to them. Mr Kuppers saw the group again at 12.40 in Terminal 2, immediately after leaving.

Mr Kuppers remembers the girl who disappeared from your country, he went to the faz.net site and saw the photo of Madeleine McCann.

As the girl in the photo was very similar to the girl at the airport, he contacted the police.

Description of the group:

- Man, aged about 56-60, about 1.76 tall, well built. Greying short hair, sort clipped beard, spoke German, walked with a stick.

- Man, aged about 40-50, about 1.80m tall, medium slim build, short dark hair, spoke German.

- Woman, aged about 25-40, abut 1.68m tall, medium build, light brown shoulder length hair, broad face, probably a German citizen.

- Boy, aged 4-5, spiky hair, slightly taller than the girl.

- Girl, aged about 3-4 years, similar looking to the girl on the faz.net site.

Unfortunately, Mr Kuppers only contacted the police 4 hours afterwards and it was not possible to find the group. It is not known if all of the group or just some of them left our country. The airport restaurant does not have security cameras. Although part of the departures area is controlled by video surveillance, the group was not spotted.

On 11-05-2007 at 11.00 an employee of Corseaux council, responsible for the cleaning of the public changing rooms, was intrigued by the behaviour of two men and two children, the persons in question approached the public changing rooms with a girl, when the saw that the employee was cleaning, they quickly put the girl into a brown Hyundai car with Swedish number plate UEJ 284 and left the scene.

Description:

- Man, blond, 35-40, 1.85m – 1.90m tall.

- Man, 1.80, blond.

- Girl, 3-4, blonde, dressed in pink, sun glasses.

- Boy, 3 years at most, no further details.

The witness, aware of the disappearance of Maddie, stated that the girl was very similar. In spite of searches made it was not possible to intercept the car.

Controls carried out show that the car in question is registered to Ingrid Borling, resident in Sweden. This is a woman with three children, born in 1984, 1988 and 1990. Your services should make the necessary checks.

We transmit the statements of a possible witness sighting.

René den Blanken (possible witness).

Saturday 19-05-2007, at about 17.00 René went to the Zwolle police. He had just arrived from holiday in the south of France and thinks he saw the missing girl (Madeleine) in the south of France.

René was on holiday in France at a place called Le Grau du Rouport Camargue. This is a site especially designated for caravans (caravan park) called “Secrets de Camargue”. It is at 30 km from Montpellier on the coast. René holiday began on Thursday 10-5-2007. René stayed in caravan nº 28.

On Wednesday 16-5-2007 at about 23.30 a new family arrived at the park and stayed in caravan nº 27. The man from this family saw René and said “bonsoir” and entered his caravan.

On the following day 17-05-2007 at about 07.30 René was alone in front of the caravan. Suddenly the curtain of caravan nº 27 opened and behind the window he saw a 4 year old girl, with blond hair, a pony tail to the shoulders, wearing pink coloured clothes, probably night wear. At this moment the curtain closed quickly and René did not manage to see if it was the girl who closed the curtain or someone else.

After some time, the man from this family left with a telephone in his hand and talked in a very agitated and nervous manner. Later that day, René’s wife saw the man’s wife go to but bread and enter the caravan for breakfast inside. René also saw an older girl, aged about 10 or 11. Possibly the older daughter of this family. At a certain time, at about 10.00 René saw the man start the car into which entered the wife and older daughter and they left. The 4 year old girl was not in the car and he thinks that she remained in the caravan, the curtain of which was still drawn closed.

At about 18.00 the family returned in the car, an Audi A6, dark coloured, Avant type. Possibly model Quattro, the car had light tyres and what was extraordinary was that the outside mirror and bumper were chrome.

The man, woman and eldest daughter went straight to the caravan.

At about 20.00 another car arrived at caravan nº 27: a Renault Megane, Scenic type, moss green. A man got out of this car and talked to the man from the family. They conversed for about 30 minutes, after this conversation, the mother and the daughter from caravan nº 27 left with the 4 year old girl. René told the Dutch police that this family was very reserved. The man and the woman did not look René or his wife in the eyes.

In Holland, the police showed René Madeleine McCann’s photo and he stated that he could not confirm 100% that the girl he saw in France was Madeleine. However, he is convinced that she resembles Madeleine.

René describes the persons as follows:

The man was aged about 40, stout, 1.75 in height, possibly French (because he spoke French) he wore a silver bracelet.

The woman was aged about 30, slim, loose dark hair, a little taller than the French man.

The older girl was about 10-11 with dark hair.

With regard to the third report (Udine, Italy), Mr Adriano Ceccherini, an Italian citizen resident in London, registered under the Registry of Italian Residents Abroad, was located and heard by the Udine police.

According to Ceccherini’s statements, he saw the girl during the afternoon of 19-05-2007 in the San Giacomo Piazza in Udine. The girl was very similar in appearance to Madeleine McCann, she was aged about 4-5 years, with light brown, almost blond hair, fair skin. She was with a man aged about 40, strong build, about 1.65m in height, with dark hair and a dark moustache, probably of gypsy origin, who played the accordion. The man and the girl approached Ceccherini, who was sitting in a bar with other people, the man continued to play the accordion and pushed the girl with his knee, urging her to ask for money. Ceccherini gave her two euros, which the girl accepted reluctantly as if she had never done this before.

We inform you that on 14th June 2007 at about 15.40 an anonymous call was made to the emergency phone line of the Ventimiglia Carabinieri relating to the disappearance of the girl in question.

This person reports having seen in Ventimiglia – Roverino area (close to the motor way) a girl with blond hair similar to the girl who disappeared in Portugal.

It could be that the girl mentioned by the anonymous woman is in fact Madeleine McCann.

According to the anonymous caller, the girl was in a grey Ford car, with number plate 76AKK06, together with two dark skinned persons, probably of gypsy origin.

The searches carried out by our police services with the aim of locating and identifying the driver and the passengers of the vehicle have had negative results.

According to information from the border police, the Ford vehicle with number plate 76AKK06 is registered in the name of Antonio Vita, resident of Nice.

Therefore, it is requested that Antonio de Vita be located and asked who was in possession of the vehicle in question on 14th June 2007 at about 15.40 in Ventimiglia and that all information gathered be provided.

The investigations to identify the person who made the anonymous call are still being undertaken.

We inform you that on 30th May 2007 we were told that Pierina Bilardo, resident of Rome, reported to the Spinaceto police (outskirts of Rome) that on 21st May 2007 at 19.50 she saw a girl similar to Madeleine McCann in a car in Spinaceto, accompanied by two women, probably Romanian citizens.

The area where the girl was seen has many gypsy camp sites.

Rome police are undertaking investigations to try to locate and identify the girl who looked like Madeleine McCann and the two Romanian women.

On 26-06-2007 Chief Inspector Stene from Notoden Police Force contacted the national services of criminal investigation in Norway saying that he had received a telegram at his home from some neighbours : Harald and Marit Henriksen, residents of Abels Gate 24, Notoden.

The Henriksens had just returned from holiday in Malta and read about the case in the Norwegian newspaper Verdens Gang about Madeleine, the girl who disappeared in Portugal. The Henriksens saw something in a city when they were in Malta on Saturday 9th June 2007, the city is called Buggiba and their hotel was the Sun Crest.

On the day in question, when they were walking in the city, they saw a little girl on a balcony. She was riding a tricycle and said “Hello” in English when they passed by her. A few days later they took the bus to Valetta and think they saw the same girl in the bus, accompanied by a bald man.

When they read the story about the disappearance in the paper they thought that the girl that they had seen in Buggiba corresponded to the photo of Madeleine published in the paper.

The person who saw the girl took some photographs and filmed her with their mobile phone and noted that the girl had an irregularity in the pupil of her right eye like the missing girl.

We are sending you the photographs and the film taken of the girl (we are sorry about the quality of the material sent) and we ask you to inform us urgently if this could effectively be the missing girl.

We would like to add that urgent investigations are being made in the area where the sighting took place and the results will be sent to you as quickly as possible.

The following sighting was communicated to Zeeland police, the person who reported the sighting stated that he did not know the telephone number of the Swiss police and that is why he directly contacted the Dutch police.

The statement was made by M. Warrens from Hulst.

At about 14.00 yesterday (22-7-2007) the family was driving in Switzerland, near to the Gotthard tunnel, heading for Holland, as the traffic was slow, for an hour they were stuck behind an blue/grey Alfa Romeo with number plate ZH615-467 ( a Swiss car).

The car was driven by a white man, with long hair in a pony tail, aged 30-40, wearing Bermudas and a white T-shirt.

When the cars stopped, the man left the vehicle several times, in a very nervous state, trying to lock the car in the back of which was a small girl.

The man tried to get out of the traffic jam, but didn’t manage. When he did manage, he left at great speed.

He was very nervous, the girl on the back seat, was wrapped in a towel and appeared to about 4 years old, with fair hair in a straight cut.

We inform you that on 8th August a woman went to the Haaglanden police station in NL and asked whether Madeleine McCann, the 4 year old missing from Portugal since May, spoke Dutch. On 7th August 2007 before embarking on a boat trip in a canal in Delft (at the quays near the Grote Markt, in the centre, embarkation time 12.00), the woman who was with an elderly man, saw a woman with a small girl.

The woman was aged between 55 and 60, 1.64 in height, of strong build with blond hair in a short and straight cut.

The girl was aged 3 – 4, with long blond hair, a fringe, a very pale face, shadows under eyes, a “strange” right eye, wearing a dress. They also boarded the boat and sat in the seats opposite.

At a given moment, the girl turned round to observe the ducks in the water and by the way she reacted and of what she said to the woman (“kijken” and “eend”, in Dutch) the witness who stated the facts to the police concluded that the girl had not often seen ducks and certainly had never travelled in a boat.

Later, the woman having seen an episode of “Opsporing Verzocht” (Dutch version of Crimewatch) on the evening of 7th August, where they showed photos of Madeleine, she reached the conclusion that the girl on the boat could have been Madeleine.

Information was received from Gibraltar police (criminal investigation department) according to which a local male individual communicated to them that when on holiday in Tangiers, Morocco, he saw a girl who looked like Madeleine McCann.

This person stated that on 8th or 9th August 2007 at about 17.00 when he was in the old part of Medina, near to the Continental Hotel that he saw a man carrying a girl who looked like Madeleine to the door. He tried to look at the girl's eyes but didn't manage. The girl seemed unhappy, ill-tempered and did not speak.

He described the man as being about 1.75 ? 1.80 cm in height, corpulent, aged 38 ? 45 with short fair hair, European type fair skin but he did not appear to be a tourist.

This individual spoke English and tried to buy shoes for the girl who corresponded to Madeleine's description. He says he does not remember the name of the shop which was in one of the labyrinths in Medina.

The witness asked a person from his group, Mrs de Boer, to film (or take a photograph) of the girl and the man and woman who were with her. Mrs de Boer’s address will be known to the Ohra travel agency.

Today Interpol Oslo received information relating to Madeleine McCann. She was possibly sighted in the Solbrua Gjestegaard Café in Skaarnes, Norway, on Monday, 10-09-2007 at about 16.15. Two men aged about 35-37, well dressed, entered the café accompanied by a girl who the witness thinks bore a resemblance to Madeleine. According to the witness, this girl was aged 4. One of the men spoke Swedish the other spoke Norwegian.

The witness thinks that the girl was behaving strangely. She seemed polite, she was sitting at the table very quietly and silently when she was not spoken to. The men in question spoke to her in English and she answered in English. The girl did not appear to be frightened or worried.

The individuals in question drove a VW Passat with a Swedish number plate UMG626.

According to Swedish police this number plate is registered in the name of Robert H. O. Vikstroem, born in Dalarna, Sweden.

Neither these men nor the vehicle are known in police documents.

We inform you that Malaga police received a phone call at about 17.00 hours on 26-09-07 from mobile nº **** from a Moroccan woman who had recently been on holiday in Morocco and who observed the minor Madeleine missing from Portugal and who wanted to provide more information.

Personal contact was taken up with the informant, who said that she had been on holiday in her country until 25-09-07 and that on the 21st at about 16.00 hours, when she was passing through Fnidk in Morocco (close to the border with Melilla) she observed a woman aged about 50 with a scarf on her head, who was leading a girl by the hand, who was wearing an orange shirt, had long blond hair and she noticed that she had the mark in the eye known to be that of the missing Madeleine.. She appeared to have a dummy hanging from her neck, a custom that is not practised in Morocco, recognising her without any doubt. She approached these persons, seeing the girl from a very close distance and when she got near to the woman the latter got into a Mercedes taxi and left the scene.

According to the informant, she also tried to get into the taxi, given that in Morocco this kind of taxi tends to transport several people at the same time. The woman with the girl told the taxi driver to leave the scene, not allowing the witness into the vehicle and that she only managed to get the taxi driver’s card.

That given the certainty that she had that the girl was the missing child she later phoned the taxi driver, who said that he had left both passengers in Housima, a village in the Rif close to Nador, in Morocco.

The taxi driver was apparently called S. Mohammed with mobile number ++++++.

This woman says she will collaborate in all that is necessary.

All of this was communicated to Interpol Rabat with the aim of carrying out all the necessary inquiries to locate the child and they will inform us of their result, as well as Interpol Lisbon, Interpol London and Interpol General Secretariat.

The Secretary General has recently received (from different sources) emails about the Maddie McCann case

Source 1: The Secretary General received an email from the committee 'Troviamos Bambini'. This organisation has a website with articles relating to missing children. In the sequence of checking the persons who have visited their website, the committee discovered that one person who was in Rabat (Morocco) regularly accesses the website, especially when articles about the disappearance of little Maddie are published.

The website was accesses namely on 24th, 25th and 27th August 2007 when articles were published entitled 'Maddie and Ylenia' and on 14th September 2007 when the article 'The Mother Killed Maddie' was published.

The Secretary General transmitted this information to IP Rome and IP Rabat.
IP Rome has informed us today that this information has been sent to the police force specialised in computer crime and that the result will be communicated to us.

Source 2: The secretary General received an email from an employee who works in IP Berne who informed that he had received a photo of a girl similar in appearance to Madeleine McCann taken in Berne on 11-08-2007 in a popularly frequented place in the old part of town' 'Munsterplatz'. After the police were alerted two police units went to this site but did not find the people in question.

We are sending you information that we received from Detective Alvaro Almeida of the York Police Homicide Department.

On 31st January 2008 a woman living in Newmarket informed this police force that she had seen a girl who corresponded to the description of Madeleine McCann about six months ago in a shopping centre in Newmarket. The woman in question is aged 83 and her husband (deceased) was a former member of the Cheshire police force.

On 28th February 2008 a police officer went to her home and obtained a statement from May Pegg. We attach a copy of the statement. According to her statement she saw the girl in July or August of 2007. Mrs Pegg says that her daughter had dissuaded her from declaring the sighting because she thought the missing girl must be in Europe.

The police officer made efforts to obtain security camera footage from the shopping centre and surrounding areas where the sighting took place. Unfortunately there was no security camera coverage for the areas in question in the shopping centre.

The investigators consider that no more measures can be taken under these circumstances. No other reports of sightings have been made in the Newmarket area or in the area corresponding to this police force. This message is just sent for information.

The attached fax was received from Stockholm and reports a sighting that occurred today in Belgrade, reported by Alexander Landefeldt to his girlfriend in Sweden. The information was reported as follows:

Telephone call from Sara Vadelind who was contacted by her boyfriend Alexander Landefeldt, an airline pilot. A sighting was reported in Sarajebsk Street, Central Belgrade today at 12.15 local time.

“Madeleine” was with a man who appeared to be of North African/Arabic/ Balkan appearance who was taking large strides. According to Alexander “Madeleine” was being pushed and followed reluctantly, not appearing to be happy. Alexander is sure that it was Madeleine.

Alexander Landefeldt can be contacted on ****** and Sara on ****.

Alexander spoke today with an officer from the British police and is on his way to the airport to return to Slovenia. His telephone will be disconnected from 20.00 today until 12.00 tomorrow. Afterwards he will be at his home in Sweden from Thursday evening.

On 19-5-2008 man called Hansen telephoned the Larvik police in Norway saying that he had information about the Madeleine McCann case.

He said that in 2007 during his holidays during the weeks 25, 26 and 27 (June/July) he was in Brazil where he has been various times, he is not sure of the date but it was probably the weekend of the 27 in Sao Paulo airport. He was staying close by and had gone to do some shopping at the airport.

He knows the airport well and close to Terminal 1 he saw a girl dressed in pink. She appeared tired, she was holding hands with a man of South American appearance, but light skinned. A woman was with them but he cannot describe her.

The girl looked like Madeleine McCann and was of the same age, but he did not know what to do. Later he saw the photo fits of the Madeleine case and thought that the man who was holding the girl by the hand resembled the photo fit.

On the Thursday or Friday of last week, Mr Hansen read in the Norwegian newspaper “Dagbladet” that Madeleine McCann had probably been seen in Sao Paulo airport. He thought this was quite a coincidence and wanted to communicate his information to the police.

INFORMATION

With regard to subject mentioned on page 2 we made telephone contact with the witness Alexander Landefeldt, who alleges to have seen the missing British girl Madeleine McCann on the 2nd of this month in Belgrade, Serbia.

The witness, after being contacted and giving a brief explanation of these facts, says that in fact he cannot be sure that it was the British girl. The girl in question had physical similarities but he can not in any be sure that it was Madeleine McCann.

But he says that he is unaware if there re other witnesses to the sighting or any system of images recording adding that he only linked the girl to Madeleine McCann because he felt there was some coincidence.
