While making enquiries at the service station in
Marrakesh re possible sighting of MBM he saw a
white Toyota Land Cruiser with Gibraltar number
plates pull onto forecourt (detailed descr. of
car), with posters and framed photo of MBM. Car
had makeshift curtain in rear, driver white in
40s with passenger of same age, plus third man
(Moroccan) - (detailed descr of all three). Men
aware of sighting of MBM at the garage, claimed
to be ex-TA on training exercise, heading for

[first part obliterated by handwritten report]
In a restaurant she witnessed a quarrel between
woman and young girl, who repeatedly smacked at
the woman (distance of 10 feet/3 metres). A
younger woman dressed in European clothing, came
up and pushed the older woman away from the
child, took the child by the hand and walked
off, the older woman following behind. She
didn't see where they went as they walked
underneath the balcony of the restaurant and
surrounding buildings. Didn’t mention it to
husband at the time but later thought it could
be MBM and decided to report it. Took photos of
the square and restaurant and gave these to
police |

at
around 2100 witnesses on way back to my Riad
North Marrakech away from the tourist areas,
came to a street-market, saw blonde European
girl, about 3 years old, with a Moroccan lady,
in her early 30's. Girl said "Mamma" the woman
walking slightly ahead of the girl said
something like, "Yes, come on, let's go", but
not in hurried way. They disappeared down an
alley. Gi rl was wearing peach or pink coloured
dress - western style - with hair in a ponytail.
Witness didn't think that her features were
broad enough to have been MBM, but it was
fleeting and dark. They reported to British
Consulate. [Note files say that Wali (governor)
had been unwilling to publicise posters without
a definite sighting and this could be the
trigger.] |

She only glanced at her for a split second, and
later that she thought it was strange. She only
saw the child from the rear, and cannot say if
it was MBM. Her hair was a lot shorter than in

Witness, who claimed to be retired army general
and that this info had also been obtained by
GCHQ Cheltenham, stated that through Headington
Moroccan community he had been told that MBM was
being held in outskirts of Marrakech. Witness
also stated that he understood that the Foreign
Office were aware of this but were doing nothing
because the Moroccan special services were
involved in the kidnap and that the Moroccan
royal family were also involved. Witness ‘kept
going off on different tangents’. |

Local man from Gibraltar (Gibraltar police
report |
|
at
about 17.00 when in the old part of Medina, near
the Continental Hotel he saw a man carrying a
girl who looked like MBM but he couldn’t see the
girl’s eyes. She seemed unhappy, ill-tempered
and did not speak. The man was 1.75 – 1.80 cm in
height, corpulent, aged 38 – 45 with short fair
hair, European type fair skin but did not appear
to be a tourist. He spoke English and tried to
buy shoes for the girl - he does not remember
the name of the shop which was in one of the
labyrinths in Medina. Further note to say that
after having seen the photos of MBM on Sky News
he is convinced that this is her. |

Isabel González, Melilla, Spain |
Husband |
at
about 12.30 in the main square of Zaio, Morocco,
while travelling slowly in a vehicle driven by
her husband, she saw a girl resembling MBM. She
saw a woman crossing three or four metres away -
middle aged, dark skinned, wearing a chitaba and
headscarf and leading a young girl, unmistakably
European, by the hand. When the girl lifted her
head she could see her face clearly and thought
she recognised her as MBM. Description: Aged
about 5 years, between 100 and 110 cm tall, very
slim, very white skin, blond hair with a pony
tail at the back, wearing a green dress that
came to her knees, a beige headscarf and wearing
sandals. The witness alerted her husband and
they parked the car but when they returned to
the neither the woman nor the girl were there.
The husband of Isabel Gonzalez ratifies his
wife’s version but he did not see the child’s
face. |

at
9.40, travelling in Morocco by car, sitting in
the front passenger seat and taking some photos
randomly. She took this photo, did not see any
other Europeans walking and looked back at the
child because it was strange – an old woman
dressed in white, in a group of people, carrying
a girl on her back, who strongly resembled MBM.
On 24th September she read in a newspaper about
a possible sighting in Morocco and remembered
what she had seen. She downloaded her photos and
found this one, which she took (amongst others
on a CD) to the British Consulate with her
lawyer. The lawyer told LP that somehow, they
don't know how, the media got hold of this and
she is now shaken. The media are running the
story in Spain, but with no photograph but he is
clearly worried that this will somehow come out. |

about 10 am in the shop of the petrol station
next to Hotel Ibis Palmeraie in Marrakesh
witness saw a small girl matching MBM’s
description (<1 meter, very pale skin, blond
hair and green eyes, wearing clear [?light] blue
pyjamas, with a pattern on the top, trousers a
little darker, probably without a pattern, pink
shoes). She was standing alone, but was with a
man about a meter away who didn't look like her
father - white male, 35-40 years, 1.78m and slim
build, short wavy dark brown hair, thin face,
wearing a baggy light grey / off white T-shirt,
mid blue jeans and light coloured trainers.. The
man was turning away from her, she was very
young to be standing alone looked and sad. She
turned to the man and said something like: Can
we see mommy soon? Witness went to her car,
looked to see if they had a car, without
success. Her husband was occupied with driving
to catch the ferry from Tangier to Tarifa. She
didn't know about MBM then but saw the news on
May 10th and remembered the girl. The Spanish
Police were not interested but on May 11th she
spoke to Katy Peters at Scotland Yard. Someone
was supposed to call back but by 23rd May no-one
had in spite of witness having emailed and
phoned several times. By 18th May witness had
spoken with SKY NEWS, ITN NEWS, THE LEICESTER
MERCURY & NSY. When the sighting was followed up
in Marrakesh cctv pictures from petrol station
were no longer available but efforts were being
made to check any cctv from local shops. |
