On 8th May 2007, I, soldier Lino José Pineta and soldier Humberto Carlos Silveira Fernandes, both on duty at the Santo André GNR post, inform you of the following events:

At about 01.15 on 8th May 2007, Ana Rute Duarte Pacheco, a resident of Santo André appeared at the GNR post to inform us that at about 00.45 she had received a call to her mobile from her husband Paulo Jorge Pacheco, resident at the same address, and who was travelling by bus from Portugal to Spain and that on the Badajoz/Madrid motorway at KM 374, where they made a stop, he observed that in a yellow bus of the “Anibal” bus company, with a Spanish number plate, he saw an individual aged about 20 wearing a white shirt and track suit bottoms and who was accompanied by a girl who spoke English and who was wearing a red blouse and pink trousers. Given the current news, he suspected and even guaranteed to his wife that this could be the girl who was being searched for. He said that the bus the girl and the individual were travelling in had a final destination of Mendes Alvares station in Madrid and that the expected arrival time was about 05.00, Portuguese time.

Faro PJ has been informed of these events by fax.

On 081130May07 citizens reported that at the Ecomarche Park in Nelas a suspect suspected of the abduction of Madeleine McCann was sighted.

After viewing Ecomarche images (sic) a suspect wearing white trousers, short sleeved shirt. Has a pony tail and 2/3 day beard.

The girl is wearing orange shorts, purple top and straw hat. An employee of the petrol station confirmed that the car in question was a Peugeot 207, French number plate and with a child’s seat placed behind the driver’s seat.

The employee also informed that the individual was of English nationality.

Anne says she was sure it was the girl.

She would be grateful for a reply.

At the service station close to the Hotel Ibis Palmeraie in Marrakesh, on 9th May at about 10.00 in the morning, Anne saw a girl inside the shop. She was wearing light blue pyjamas. She was with a man who was about a metre away from her. The man did not appear to be her father. The girl appeared sad and asked: Can we see Mummy soon?

At this time Anne did not yet know about the missing girl, when she found out, on the following day she phoned the Spanish and English police. The Spanish police did not want to speak to her, but she spoke to the English police, making a statement to Scotland Yard, to Katy Peters. They said they would phone her, but up until now there has been nothing.

Yesterday at 21.00, to the south of the Beliche – Castro Marim dam, he saw a male individual, about 1.75m in height, wearing dark blue jeans and a dark t-shirt, accompanied by a girl aged about 3 years, with blond hair, wearing light coloured clothes and who were heading in a northern direction along the bushes, before he lost sight of them.

Subject: Disappearance of Madeleine McCann

On 9th May, at the end of the afternoon, this police station was contacted by the Vieira do Minho GNR post saying that a middle aged couple had gone to the Farmer’s Cooperative supermarket in Vieira do Minho where, amongst other articles, they had bought a child’s toothbrush.

It was said that the couple spoke English and were staying at the Cabreira camping site, Entre Rios, Vieira do Minho and were not accompanied by any child.

It was decided, upon superior order by the undersigned officer, to go the camping site in question, with the aim of obtaining elements to confirm whether the couple was accompanied by any child with the characteristics of the missing girl, Madeleine McCann.

From the inquiries made it was established that the couple was from the island of Jersey in England, the man Graeme Le Vesconte, holding passport number *** and Chief of the Jersey Municipal Fire Service.

The couple, who were having dinner outside their caravan at 20.00, were contacted, having confirmed that they were travelling through Portugal on holiday, having hired the caravan for this purpose, they had been in Vieira do Minho for almost 4 days and planned to return to their native country at the end of the month, after travelling through Spain and France.

They were explained the reason for this conversation and authorized me to enter the caravan, which showed no signs of anyone else being in there, nor was there any object that could be related to children.

The inquiry was terminated and the local GNR was informed of the result,

INFORMATION


According to information provided by a Norwegian citizen, Anne Marie Olli, which the attached electronic file refers to, on 9th May 2007, at about 10.00, she saw Madeleine at a petrol service station, close to the Hotel Ibis Palmeraie, in the city of Marrakech. She states that the girl was wearing blue pyjamas, with a pattern on the top half and pyjama bottoms that were slightly darker and plain. (The girl) was accompanied by a male individual who remained at a distance of 1 metre from the girl and who did not appear to be her father. At a given moment, not being sure if these were the words said, she think that the girl, addressing the individual, said “can we see mommy soon?”, to which he did not reply.


After having paid, the citizen (AMO) left the shop and went to her car, not having turned to observe the girl and her supposed companion.

On the following day, 10th May, in the evening, upon seeing the news and as she had not previously been aware of the situation regarding the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, she was sure that it was her.

In spite of the fact that the information in the email, in our opinion, is coherent and credible, we made phone contact with Anne Olli, who corroborated the email’s contents. She was asked if she was certain that this was the missing girl and she replied affirmatively. She said the girl had very pale skin, blond hair and green eyes, she did not notice any detail in the retina of the right eye. She would have been almost four years old and about a metre tall. As regards her clothing, she says it was of blue cloth and could have been pyjamas or long summer clothing.

She adds that the petrol station was almost next to a hotel, in a street called Abdel Krim Qhattabi.

Given this information, we contacted the French embassy, speaking to Jorge Barbosa, as this entity has a liaison officer in Paris. This contact was made by phone and email, which is attached.

In reply we were informed, that as indicated by the Director of the DCCB, personnel from the British Embassy were carrying out inquiries related to this information, aiming to establish whether images existed.

We later found out that the images were not available on VHS recording, as they are of a short duration, done by recording over, however there could be images from other shops in the area that could be recorded on a hard disk system, however, up until now these have not been collected due to technical difficulties.

We also emphasise that we contacted the Director of the Moroccan PJ, Mr Mouzouni, one of his advisers having confirmed that the request for images had been made by the British authorities, who were making efforts to obtain them.

We also contacted the director of the Afriquia Petrol company which manages the petrol station, identified as Mr Ouassi, who confirmed that the images of the petrol station were not available, as they are only kept for a few days.
